Pakke Tiger Reserve

Pakke Tiger Reserve, also known as Pakhui Tiger Reserve, is a biodiversity-rich sanctuary located in the East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Spread over 862 sq km, it is known for its dense tropical and subtropical forests, stunning river valleys, and diverse wildlife. The reserve is home to the Nyishi tribal community, who actively participate in conservation efforts. It is one of the best places in Northeast India for wildlife enthusiasts, offering excellent opportunities for birdwatching, jungle safaris, and eco-tourism.

• Mammals: Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, clouded leopard, Asiatic black bear, wild dog (dhole), elephant, barking deer, sambar, and gaur (Indian bison).
• Birds: Hornbills (great hornbill, wreathed hornbill, oriental pied hornbill), white-winged wood duck, ibisbill, and various species of pheasants and eagles.
• Reptiles: King cobra, Indian rock python, and monitor lizard.
