Snowline Trek

Snowline Trek is an extension of the popular Triund trek and is ideal for trekkers who want a deeper mountain experience without committing to a long or technical trail. Starting from Dharamshala–McLeod Ganj, the trek passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests before reaching Triund, after which the trail becomes quieter, steeper, and more dramatic. As you move toward Snowline, the landscape opens up to vast alpine meadows and towering rocky walls of the Dhauladhar range.

The highlight of the trek is the raw, uninterrupted view of snow-covered peaks at Snowline, which feels far more immersive than Triund itself. Trekkers usually camp near Snowline or stay at the seasonal Snowline Café during peak trekking months. The route is manageable for beginners with decent fitness, yet scenic enough to satisfy experienced hikers looking for solitude and mountain intimacy.

Best attempted from April to June and September to November, the Snowline Trek is perfect for short itineraries, budget travelers, and those seeking a balance of adventure, nature, and Himalayan serenity near Dharamshala.
