Pazhaya Courtallam Falls

Pazhaya Courtallam Falls, also called Old Courtallam Falls, is one of the waterfalls in the famous Courtallam waterfall system in Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu. Located on the slopes of the Western Ghats, it is smaller than the Main Courtallam Falls but is often preferred by travelers looking for a calmer and less crowded experience.

The waterfall spreads over a wide rock face, creating multiple gentle streams rather than a single heavy drop. The water flows down from the Western Ghats forests and is believed locally to contain herbal properties due to the medicinal plants in the surrounding hills. The area around the falls has a designated bathing spot and is surrounded by dense greenery, making it a pleasant stop while exploring the various waterfalls of Courtallam.
