Tiger Falls

Tiger Falls (locally called Puliyaruvi) is one of the smaller waterfalls in the Courtallam waterfall system in Tamil Nadu. It is located on the forested slopes of the Western Ghats near Courtallam and is known for its relatively gentle water flow, making it suitable for families and children to bathe safely. Unlike the crowded Main Falls, Tiger Falls usually has fewer visitors and offers a quieter environment.

The waterfall receives water from the seasonal streams of the Western Ghats and is part of the broader Courtallam waterfall cluster, which includes Main Falls, Five Falls, Old Courtallam Falls, and Shenbaga Devi Falls. During the Southwest monsoon (June–September), the flow increases and the surrounding area becomes lush and green, attracting tourists who visit Courtallam for its famous “herbal waters,” believed to pass through medicinal plants in the hills.
