Queen’s Bathhouse (Rani’s Bath)

An elegant Indo-Islamic style royal bathhouse once used by the Vijayanagara queens for leisure and relaxation.

The Queen’s Bathhouse is a magnificent structure that reflects the luxury of the Vijayanagara Empire. From the outside, it appears plain, but step inside and you’ll find an ornate bath chamber surrounded by arched corridors, projecting balconies, and carved stucco decorations. A moat encircles the building, once filled with water, emphasizing privacy and exclusivity. It likely served as a private retreat for royal women, symbolizing the grandeur of the empire’s domestic architecture.

Situated just outside the Royal Enclosure, near the entrance to Hampi’s main heritage zone; easily accessible by walk or bicycle from the Zenana Enclosure.
