Yaoshang is Manipur’s five-day-long spring festival, coinciding with Holi but celebrated with indigenous Meitei traditions, sports, music, and dance. Yaoshang begins on the full moon day of Phalguna and lasts for five days.

2. Thabal Chongba – The Traditional Manipuri Dance
- Thabal Chongba, meaning “Moonlight Dance,” is the most iconic event of Yaoshang.
- Young boys and girls dance in a circle under the full moon, holding hands and moving rhythmically.

3. Playing with Colors (Pichkari in Manipuri Style)
- From the second day onward, people apply gulal (dry colors) and splash water on each other.
