HVT Foundation

HVT Foundation (Himalayan Volunteer Tourism) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating meaningful connections between volunteers and grassroots communities across the Himalayan region. Founded in 2018 by Mr. Panki Sood and Ms. Mahima Mehra, it began as a simple Facebook initiative aimed at bridging the gap between people willing to contribute their skills and communities in need of support.

What started as a small digital experiment has grown into a thriving network of over 30,000 members, including travelers, educators, artists, healthcare professionals, and changemakers. Over time, HVT has evolved into a registered Section 8 organization with 12A, 80G, CSR-1, and Darpan certifications, actively running structured programs and long-term initiatives in education, skill development, and community empowerment.

The organization has facilitated 2,500+ volunteer placements, partnered with 200+ host communities, and supports 50+ active projects across the Himalayan belt. With a strong focus on grassroots engagement, cultural exchange, and sustainable development, HVT Foundation creates opportunities that go beyond tourism—enabling individuals to contribute, learn, and immerse themselves in authentic local experiences.

At its core, HVT continues to believe that simple, community-driven ideas can evolve into impactful movements, fostering lasting change for both volunteers and the communities they serve.
