Kota Community: Pehal Ek Kadam is a grassroots environmental movement based in Kota, Rajasthan, founded in 2023 by Gulshan Manwani and Mayuri. The initiative emerged from a simple realization—visible pollution in local areas like the Kota Barrage—and has since grown into a dedicated effort to clean and restore public spaces across the city. Guided by the belief that “change starts from us,” the group actively involves citizens in taking responsibility for their surroundings.

The organization conducts regular cleanup drives at key locations including riverbanks of the Chambal, temples, and historically significant sites such as Bhitariya Kund and Badgaon Baori. Alongside waste removal, the initiative promotes plastic-free practices and encourages community participation to create long-term behavioral change.
