Deer Park

Deer Park, located in Hauz Khas, South Delhi, is one of the city’s largest and most scenic parks, offering a refreshing escape into nature. It is named after the large population of deer that roam freely in a secured enclosure within the park. Spread over 60 acres, it is divided into different sections, including the deer enclosure, rabbit and peacock areas, a lake (part of Hauz Khas Complex), Mughal-era tombs, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The park is popular among morning walkers, joggers, families, and photographers due to its greenery, fresh air, and peaceful environment.

Apart from its wildlife and natural beauty, the park features historic structures from the Lodhi era, adding a heritage touch to the surroundings. The Hauz Khas Lake, which is connected to the park, enhances the overall experience, attracting bird watchers and nature lovers. Entry is free, and the best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon, especially in winter and spring when the weather is pleasant.
