Shri Malyavanta Raghunatha Temple is perched atop the rocky Malyavanta Hill and holds deep mythological significance. It is believed that Lord Rama, along with Lakshmana, stayed here during their exile before marching towards Lanka. The temple’s sanctum features unique idols of Lord Rama and Lakshmana in sitting posture, unlike the usual standing depiction. The granite structure, surrounded by naturally sculpted boulders, exudes tranquility and spiritual calm. The view from the hilltop during sunrise and sunset is spectacular, overlooking the Tungabhadra River valley and Hampi’s vast ruins.

How to Reach Shri Malyavanta Raghunatha Temple

Located around 3 km southeast of Hampi Bazaar, the temple can be reached by auto-rickshaw or a short scooter ride along the road toward Kamalapur.
