Gangaur is a vibrant festival dedicated to Goddess Gauri (Parvati), celebrated mainly in Rajasthan, marking the devotion of married and unmarried women to Goddess Parvati for conjugal happiness and prosperity.
Gangaur

Gangaur is one of the most significant festivals of Rajasthan and is also celebrated in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and West Bengal. Women worship Gauri, the consort of Lord Shiva, as a symbol of love, fertility, and marital bliss. Married women pray for the well-being and long life of their husbands, while unmarried women seek good husbands. The festival includes processions with beautifully decorated idols of Gauri, folk songs, dances, fairs, and traditional rituals. Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jodhpur are especially known for their grand public celebrations and colorful processions during Gangaur.
